Veggie patch…
Another passion of mine is gardening, this shouldn’t come as a suprise since I like plants….Well I suppose that doesn’t always translate. I like the peace gardening gives me, I like the home grown produce I get to eat and I also like the money I get to save.
I always get so zealous when spring arrives, I want to plant every summer crop I can squeeze in my backyard. During the last week of August, I decided to plant cucumber seedlings, the seedlingls were too small and probably needed to grow a bit before planting them in a still “coldish” climate. I was so impatient to wait for just another 2 weeks. The result was, all the seedlings died and I ended up having to purchase more seedlings and planting them again.
Hebrews 10:36 says, “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” My lack of patience reminds me of the same impatient we sometimes have in regards to God’s will for us. God has clearly told us what he expects from us as His children, to love one another as He has loved us. I find it so hard most of the time to love those people who I know hate me or dislike me or have been mean to me. It requires patience and perserverance in prayer to have the heart of God and to be led by the Holy Spirit in everything we do. Matthew 5:44-46, talks about loving our enemies, “ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get?”
